Iran’s Foreign Minister Attends Meeting on Ukrainian Jetliner Crash

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif has taken part in a meeting of foreign ministers of the countries involved in the case of a Ukrainian passenger plane that crashed in Iran in January.

The ministerial meeting was held on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany on Saturday.
In the meeting, Foreign Minister Zarif exchanged views on the manner of pursuing the legal and technical dimensions of the incident, emphasized Iran’s responsible behaviour in dealing with the case, and stressed the need to avoid politicization of the issue.
Foreign Minister Zarif also reiterated the Islamic Republic of Iran’s readiness to cooperate with Ukraine in order to probe into the case and achieve a legal settlement of the issue.
