The UK ambassador to Tehran was summoned to the Iranian foreign ministry by the ministry’s director general for Western Europe on Sunday in reaction to the hostile propaganda by London-based Persian-language media against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the meeting, Iran’s strong protest was lodged with the British government through the ambassador over the UK hosting media that, over the past days, focused on inviting people to engage in riots, inciting them and spreading the unrest in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
It was also reiterated to the ambassador that this represents interference in the domestic affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and action against its national sovereignty.
In response, the British ambassador said that he will immediately report the proceeding to London.
