Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who is in China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, met on the sidelines of the summit with his Kyrgyz counterpart, Jeenbek Kulubaev.
Araghchi expressed gratitude for Kyrgyzstan’s strong position in condemning the aggressions of the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran, as well as for the solidarity and sympathy extended by the Kyrgyz government and people toward Iran.
Referring to the growing and friendly relations between the two countries, Araghchi emphasized that Iran places great value on its ties with Kyrgyzstan. He expressed hope that with the implementation of agreements reached during high-level visits—especially those concluded during the 14th Joint Economic Commission—and through the use of opportunities within the Eurasian Economic Union, bilateral relations, particularly in the economic and trade sectors, would see further development between the public and private sectors of both countries.
The Kyrgyz Foreign Minister conveyed condolences on behalf of his government and people for the martyrdom of Iranian military officials, academics, and innocent civilians during the recent aggressions by Israel and the United States.
Describing Iran as a close friend of Kyrgyzstan, he expressed satisfaction with recent meetings and negotiations between officials of the two nations and voiced his country’s readiness to continue strengthening economic and commercial relations. He also extended an official invitation to Minister Araghchi to visit Bishkek, which Araghchi welcomed.
Kulubaev further noted that Kyrgyzstan’s upcoming presidency of the SCO next year would offer an opportunity to continue high-level exchanges and further strengthen bilateral ties.
