The Spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmail Baqaei, strongly condemned the Zionist regime’s extensive airstrikes on various regions of Lebanon, particularly residential areas in the south of the country, and the destruction of infrastructure and civilian facilities.

The spokesperson described the Zionist regime’s military aggression against Lebanon and its targeting of public infrastructure and civilian homes as a blatant violation of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and a clear example of war crimes. He emphasized the direct responsibility of those guaranteeing the ceasefire for the crimes committed.

Expressing condolences to the families of the martyrs and voicing support for and solidarity with the government and people of Lebanon, Baqaei called for immediate and effective action by the international community to end the Zionist regime’s impunity.

Referring to the continuous violations of the ceasefire agreement by the Zionist regime over the past 15 months, the spokesperson highlighted the legal and political responsibility of the ceasefire’s supporters and guarantors for these repeated violations.

He stressed the necessity for the UN, particularly the Security Council, to fulfill its mandated responsibilities in order to immediately halt these aggressions and hold the occupying regime accountable for its grave violations of international law.
