Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who has traveled to Muscat for consultations with senior officials of the Sultanate of Oman, met and held talks with Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Al Said this morning.
The Foreign Minister expressed appreciation for Oman's responsible approach in facilitating diplomatic processes, as well as the country's prudent stance regarding the US-Israeli imposed war on Iran. He further emphasized Iran's determination to safeguard friendly relations with Oman and other countries in the southern Persian Gulf region.
Iran's Foreign Minister stated: "The 40-day imposed war experience against Iran demonstrated that the US military presence in regional countries only leads to insecurity and discord. It is expected that all regional countries adopt a constructive and responsible approach to form endogenous collective security mechanisms free from US interference."
The Sultan of Oman, while offering condolences for the martyrdom of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, as well as a number of high-ranking political and defense officials and Iranian citizens during the US and Zionist regime's military aggression against Iran — and also conveying his warm regards to Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, and President Pezeshkian — emphasized Oman's commitment to peace and stability in the region, including by helping advance diplomacy.
Expressing hope for the swift and definitive end of the war and the return of stability and security to the region, the Sultan of Oman declared his country's readiness to provide any assistance in this regard.
In this meeting, which was also attended by Sayyid Badr al-Busaidi, Oman's Minister of Foreign Affairs, the two sides discussed and exchanged views on issues related to the safety and security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, the security of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, economic cooperation among regional countries, and developments related to the negotiations to end the war with Pakistan's mediation.
