Spokesman for the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran has strongly rejected the Wall Street Journal’s claim that Iran has asked for the creation of a US consular service in the Swiss embassy in Tehran. Seyyed Abbas Mousavi’s remarks came in reaction to a Sunday report by the Wall Street Journal in which a US official was quoted as saying that “Iran had recently asked for the creation of a consular service through the Swiss, who represent US interests in Tehran.”
