Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amriabdollahian, in a meeting with his Venezuelan counterpart Carlos Faria, exchanged views on Saturday over issues of mutual interest.
Amriabdollahian congratulated Faria on his appointment to the post of foreign minister, saying now ties between Iran and Venezuela are in their best position and that the signing of the roadmap for comprehensive cooperation between the two countries will pave the way for deepening bilateral relations more than ever before.
The top Iranian diplomat also expressed hope that in the future, increased contacts and trips will prepare the ground for forcefully pursuing and implementing the 20-year treaty.
The Venezuelan foreign minister also pointed to his experience in close cooperation with Iranian sides in his previous posts. Faria underscored that a good opportunity has been provided for embarking on a new round of cooperation. He added, “We have witnessed Iran’s advancements firsthand in the fields of knowledge-based economy and industries as well as other spheres, especially under sanctions, and we admire that.”
The top Venezuelan diplomat said his country totally agrees with Iran’s view that sanctions can create opportunities.
