Italy’s foreign ministry official meets with Ali Bagheri Kani in Tehran
Pasquale Ferrara, General Director for Political Affairs and International Security at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held talks with Ali Bagheri, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, during a visit to Tehran on Wednesday.
Pasquale Ferrara, General Director for Political Affairs and International Security at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held talks with Ali Bagheri, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, during a visit to Tehran on Wednesday. In the meeting, the two officials held consultations over the latest state of ties between Tehran and Rome and international issues. Bagheri and Ferrara underlined the need for paving the way to expand bilateral relations in all spheres. The top Iranian negotiator spoke about the latest state of talks aimed at removing oppressive sanctions on Iran. Bagheri said the negotiations are aimed at laying down necessary condition for the return of the US to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, JCPOA, adding, “As a result, the US cannot set conditions for Iran, which is a signatory to the agreement.” On the future course of the talks, Bagheri said during the upcoming discussions, the seriousness and genuineness of the US’s will to reach a deal will be put to a test.
