On Thursday, in continuation of the plans of the second day of his visit to Uzbekistan, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi met with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, stressing that the development of relations with the countries of Central Asia, especially Tajikistan, is one of the first priorities of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, saying, "There are many common grounds between the people of this region in the fields of culture and civilisation".Emphasising the continuation of the policy of developing relations with neighbouring countries by the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr Raisi stated, "There are many capacities for economic and commercial cooperation between Tehran and Dushanbe".In this meeting, the President of Tajikistan also expressed his satisfaction with the progress of relations between the two countries, especially in the economic and commercial fields, and emphasised his country's determination to continue this process.In another part of this meeting, the Presidents of Iran and Tajikistan discussed regional issues, security and the problems of the people of Afghanistan.
