Iranian and Qatari FMs hold telephone conversation
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani have discussed developments in relations between Tehran and Doha, especially following the meetings between high-ranking officials of the two countries, as well as Qatar’s successful hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup matches.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani have discussed developments in relations between Tehran and Doha, especially following the meetings between high-ranking officials of the two countries, as well as Qatar’s successful hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup matches. While extending greetings from Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Qatar’s emir, Amirabdollahian congratulated the Persian Gulf country’s government and people on their successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup. Amirabdollahian also thanked Qatar for its assistance regarding the presence of the fans of the Iranian National Team (Team Melli) and sports enthusiasts at the matches. The Qatari foreign minister also extended greetings from the country’s emir to Iran’s high-ranking officials. Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani further hailed the Team Melli for its performance on the pitch and thanked Iran for its active support and cooperation with Doha during the FIFA World Cup matches. He praised the Team Melli’s performance regardless of the results of the matches. The two foreign ministers then wished all the best for the players of the national teams of Iran and Qatar.
