Ali Asghar Khaji, the Iranian foreign minister’s senior advisor for special political affairs, on Thursday met with Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi in Muscat as he continued his consultations over regional and bilateral issues. In the meeting, Khaji and Albusaidi held talks over ways of boosting bilateral ties and also over the latest situation in the region, especially in Yemen and Syria. The two officials also agreed to continue and increase consultations over bilateral and regional issues. Khaji thanked Oman for its efforts to resolve the Yemen crisis through political means, to remove the siege on Yemen and to establish a ceasefire in the country. Khaji and Albusaidi also expressed deep regret over the earthquake in Syria that caused heavy casualties and damage in the country. They also underlined the need to send humanitarian aid to Syria. During his visit to Muscat, Khaji met with Sheikh Khalifah al-Haresi, political deputy of the Omani Foreign Ministry, too.
