Iranian deputy FM holds talks with Chinese counterpart in Beijing
The Iranian deputy foreign minister and chief nuclear negotiator in the sanctions removal talks has held talks with the Chinese deputy foreign minister on the sidelines of the Iranian president’s visit to China.
The Iranian deputy foreign minister and chief nuclear negotiator in the sanctions removal talks has held talks with the Chinese deputy foreign minister on the sidelines of the Iranian president’s visit to China.The meeting between Ali Bagheri and Ma Zhaoxu  happened on Wednesday afternoon.  The two sides underlined the need for all parties to the Iran nuclear deal, JCPOA, to fully abide by their commitments. Bagheri and Ma also agreed that adherence to dialogue must be accompanied by practical action. They agreed that China and Iran will continue their close communication and coordination, just as before, for the purpose of furthering the sanctions removal talks. Bagheri and Ma also agreed to actively put cooperation and consultations over international issues on the agenda of Tehran and Beijing. In their meeting, the Iranian and Chinese deputy foreign ministers further held consultations over a number of important regional and international issues such as fighting terrorism and preventing the Western narrative about human rights from becoming dominant.
