Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Thursday met with leader of Iraq’s Babylon Movement Rayan al-Kildani and Iraq’s Immigration Minister Ms. Ivan Faiek Jabru at the Iranian Embassy in Baghdad.
Amirabdollahian said a feature of General Qassem Soleimani’s fight against Daesh was to respect and care for the religious minority including Christians of Iraq.
The leader of Iraq’s Babylon Movement for his part outlined the measures and unique services of General Soleimani to Iraq’s Christian community, stressing that Iraqi Christians believe that General Soleimani is theirs and that they owe their security to the bravery of this great Iranian commander.
Amirabdollahian appreciated this precious gratitude on the part of the Iraqi Christians. He described Iran’s Christians as “noble and zealous compatriots” and stressed the need for interaction between Iranian and Iraqi Christians.
