Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian who is in Pakistan for talks with the country’s high-ranking officials met with his Pakistani counterpart at the last stage of his 3-day stay there. The meeting happened in the city of Karachi, the provincial capital of Sindh Province and before a dinner banquet that Sind Province’s head minister gave in honor of Amirabdollahian and his entourage. Amirabdollahian and Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met for the purpose of assessing the results of the Iranian delegation’s visit to Pakistan.
Amirabdollahian said he was pleased with the outcome of his meetings with his Pakistani counterpart and other high-ranking Pakistani officials and described the talks between the two sides as fruitful.
Amirabdollahian said the Islamic Republic of Iran has always wished well for the government and people of Pakistan and will continue doing so.
He said the trend of bilateral ties is satisfactory and the relations are on the right track.
In the meeting, the Pakistani foreign minister also described the outcome of Amirabdollahian’s trip and his talks with high-ranking officials of Pakistan as successful.
Zardari said the visit was the most successful trip by a foreign minister from another country during his tenure as the top diplomat of Pakistan.
He added that the successes both sides have had in their relations over the last few months have been more impressive and effective than before, and in fact, Tehran and Islamabad have laid the groundwork for further expanding their ties.
At the end of their meeting, the two foreign ministers attended the dinner banquet held by Seyed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh Province, in honor of Amirabdollahian and his entourage
