Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian met Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon on Friday.
The political developments in Lebanon and the region, including the developments in Palestine, Syria and the resistance front, and some other important developments in the Islamic world were discussed in the meeting.
During the meeting, Amirabdollahian updated the Secretary General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah on his recent talks with Saudi officials.
Amirabdollahian evaluated his talks with the Saudi officials as positive and added, “The process of implementing the agreements between the two countries will be an indicator of the attitudes of the two countries in the new page of relations between Tehran and Riyadh.”
Amirabdollahian also referred to his talks with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and other senior Syrian officials, and asserted that amid resumption of Syria’s relations with the Arab countries and its return to a normal state, foreign moves to activate terrorists in Syria show the goals of the enemies and the Zionist regime against Syria and the security of the region.
The latest situation in Palestine and the multi-layered security and social crises in the occupied territories were also discussed during the meeting.
The Secretary General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah also said, “Today, the resistance in Lebanon and Palestine is at its strongest state, and if the Zionists behave based on any miscalculation, they will face a reaction by the resistance that will make them regret.”
Referring to Iran’s constructive role in the region and Lebanon, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah commemorated the martyrs of the resistance of the region, Lebanon and Iran, and said General Qassem Soleimani’s role in stabilizing the region’s security against Zionism and terrorism is unforgettable.
