Seyyed Abdolrahim Sadatifar, the new Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the holy Iraqi city of Karbala, met with Iran’s foreign minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, before departing for his diplomatic mission to explain his work plans for the new mission and discuss his upcoming activities within the work area of the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the said holy city.
During the meeting, Amirabdollahian emphasized the importance of relations between Iran and Iraq, particularly in religious spheres and people-to-people exchanges.
He highlighted the mutual affection of the two countries' people, especially concerning visiting the shrines and the shrine of Hazrat Ali Ibn Musa Al-Reza (AS) in holy Mashhad, stressing the need for organized pilgrimage of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) between the two countries.
Sadatifar has held positions such as Director General of South America, Advisor to the Minister, Director General of the Affairs of the Office of Minister, Assistant Minister in supervision affairs, Charge d'Affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Argentina, Ambassador of Iran to Colombia, and Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Najaf.
