Irans new ambassador to Thailand meets Amirabdollahian
Nasseredin Heidari Iran’s new Ambassador to Thailand has met with Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian before leaving for his place of duty.
Nasseredin Heidari, Iran’s new Ambassador to Thailand, has met with Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian before leaving for his place of  duty.  During the meeting he gave a report to the top diplomat regarding the place of his mission and his plans on expanding and boosting the Tehran-Bangkok ties more than ever before.  In the meeting, Amirabdollahian stressed the importance of expanding the long-standing relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Thailand as one of the members of the ASEAN and strengthening commercial and economic ties with the countries of the region, especially Thailand.  He also called for pursuing the improvement of political, parliamentary and economic ties and more mobility in this regard, especially in terms of cooperation with Thailand’s new government.  Heidari has previously served as a seasoned diplomat in the Foreign Ministry and as the director of the Department of Bilateral and Multilateral Diplomacy and the head of the Conventional Arms Control and Space Agency.  It is worth noting that Bangkok is the headquarters of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the Iranian ambassador to Thailand will be the country’s representative in this international organization at the same time.
