Iran summons British French German envoys over irresponsible stances following punitive measure against Zionist regime
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has summoned the ambassadors of Britain France and Germany
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has summoned the ambassadors of Britain, France and Germany in Tehran following the ‘irresponsible stances’ by some officials of the countries on Iran’s response to some of the series of moves by the Zionist regime against Iranian citizens and interests, including the recent cowardly attack on Iran’s Embassy in Damascus.   Simon Shercliff, Nicholas Roche, and Hans-Udo Muzel, the British, French and German envoys to Tehran respectively, were summoned on Sunday by the Director General of Western Europe to the Foreign Ministry.   During the meetings, the Director General of Western Europe highlighted the Zionist regime’s inhumane moves that violate the international law and norms, the latest of which was the cowardly attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s embassy in Damascus, which led to the martyrdom of a few Iranian military advisers and Syrian civilians.   He noted, “Last night’s move by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s armed forces against the Zionist regime’s military bases, was within the framework of practicing the inherent self-defense right stipulated in Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and in response to the series of crimes perpetrated by the Zionist regime, especially the recent strike on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s embassy.”   This foreign ministry official also said, “Reiterating its commitment to the principles and objectives of the United Nations Charter as well as international law, the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to decisively defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests against any illegal use of force.”   The Director General of Western Europe denounced the European trio for the double standard regarding the Israeli regime’s airstrike on Iran’s diplomatic mission and at the same time slamming Iran for “exercising its inherent right to legitimate defense against any aggressor” as per Article 51 of the UN Charter.   “The Islamic Republic of Iran has shown with its constructive and effective measures that it has always sought to prevent the spiraling of tension through implementing the possible capacities,” he noted and added, “Nevertheless, in case the Zionist regime’s adventurism continues, it will vigorously defend the sovereignty, security and peace of its people to protect its legitimate interests against any military aggression and use of force.”   The envoys of the three European countries stated that they would inform their capitals on the developments as soon as possible.
