Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri concluded his meetings and consultations in Jeddah by meeting with Waleed Al-Khuraiji, Saudi Arabia's Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the sidelines of the Executive Committee meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Bagheri emphasized: “The widespread condemnation of the recent terrorist crime by the Zionist regime in killing Martyr Ismail Haniyeh, who was an official guest of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has deepened the political isolation of the Zionists. They had hoped that the normalization process with some regional countries would alleviate their isolation, but it has further portrayed them as a failed aggressor in the global public opinion.” He stated: “Bilateral relations are on the right path, and we hope to see further development and expansion of these relations in the new Iranian government.” Waleed Al-Khuraiji, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, also appreciated the initiative of the Islamic Republic of Iran in proposing and striving to hold the extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He emphasized the support of all the countries present at this meeting for Iran in condemning the recent aggression of the Zionist regime. He described the Jeddah meeting as good and successful, within the framework of joint efforts of Islamic countries in confronting the aggressions of the Israeli regime. Saudi Arabia's Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs also reiterated his country's principled stance in condemning any terrorist actions and violations of the sovereignty and national security of countries. Saudi Arabia's Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs also noted that the bilateral relationship is progressing well, and that Saudi Arabia attaches special importance to the development of relations. He expressed hope that the affairs of Iranian umrah (minor Hajj) pilgrims would be further facilitated through the interaction and understanding between the two countries. During this meeting, consular issues were also discussed and followed up, and the Saudi official emphasized cooperation with the Iranian side in this regard.
