Iran's Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmail Baqaei, strongly condemned the continued genocide of the Palestinian people and the killing of dozens of Palestinian civilians in various areas of Gaza—including at humanitarian aid distribution centers—the ongoing siege of the Gaza Strip, and the deprivation of the oppressed people of Gaza of food, water, and medicine, which has led to the slow death of hundreds. Baqaei also condemned the continued desecration of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the killing of Palestinian youths by settlers and officials of the Zionist regime. He noted that in the past 12 hours alone, more than 60 innocent people—many of them young children—have been martyred as a result of the Zionist regime’s attacks. Baqaei described the continued inaction of the relevant international bodies—particularly the United Nations Security Council, the Human Rights Council, and the International Committee of the Red Cross, all of which bear a clear mandate to act against gross violations of human and humanitarian rights—as disgraceful and unjustifiable. The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson expressed deep revulsion at the ongoing inaction of the United Nations Security Council in the face of the unprecedented crimes committed by the Zionist regime in occupied Palestine, and held the United States and other Western supporters of the Zionist regime—particularly the United Kingdom, Germany, and France—complicit in the crimes of the Israeli regime. He emphasized that the governments supporting the occupying regime are the primary enablers of its impunity in the face of its egregious violations of international human rights and humanitarian law, and must be held accountable before the conscience of humanity.
