New head of Iranian Embassy in Jordan meets with FM Araghchi
New head of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jordan Davoud Kalantari met with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Saturday morning prior to departing for the place of his diplomatic mission.
  New head of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jordan Davoud Kalantari met with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Saturday morning, prior to departing for the place of his diplomatic mission. During the meeting, Kalantari presented a report to Araghchi on the current state of bilateral relations between Tehran and Amman, along with his proposed plan to enhance and strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The foreign minister referred to Jordan’s position in the West Asia region and said he is pleased with the increasing contacts and communications between officials of the two countries. Araghchi further underscored the need to pursue bilateral relations and to work jointly toward promoting regional security and stability. He also underlined the important role of the Iranian Embassy in Amman to this end. Kalantari has previously served as deputy director of the First Department for the Middle East and North Africa at the Foreign Ministry, political secretary and attache at Iranian embassies in Jordan, Kuwait, and Iraq, as well as assistant to the General Department for West Asia and North Africa at the Foreign Ministry.
