The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Foreign Ministry totally rejects the repeated and legally invalid claims made by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council regarding the three Iranian islands mentioned in the statement of the 165th meeting of the Council’s foreign ministers. Iran reaffirms its indisputable sovereignty over Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb, which are inseparable parts of Iranian territory. It emphasizes that repeating baseless claims in similar statements will not change the geographical, historical, or legal facts about these islands. Accordingly, the Islamic Republic of Iran rejects the interventionist remarks in the statement and stresses that it will take all necessary actions to ensure the safety and security of these islands and protect its national interests there, in line with its sovereign rights. The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Foreign Ministry also reaffirms Iran’s rights over the Arash gas field based on historical rights and past negotiations. It considers unilateral claims about the field to be invalid and states that issuing repeated statements and making one-sided claims does not create any legal rights for Kuwait. A fair and lasting agreement on the Arash field requires bilateral dialogue, joint efforts, and a constructive atmosphere to protect mutual rights and interests. The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Foreign Ministry emphasizes its legitimate right to use nuclear energy under the Non-Proliferation Treaty and considers any doubts about the peaceful nature of its nuclear program to be unfounded. It asserts that Iran has always fulfilled its obligations under the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement and has participated in negotiations with a responsible and good-faith approach to build trust. However, the United States and European parties have repeatedly violated their commitments and disrupted the negotiation process by breaching the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law. The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Foreign Ministry calls the attention of regional countries to the real and urgent threat posed by the weapons of mass destruction held by the Zionist regime. It stresses that creating a region free of nuclear weapons requires collective efforts by regional countries to push the international community to take effective action against the genocidal and aggressor Israeli regime’s weapons of mass destruction. The Islamic Republic of Iran also highlights the need for lasting regional security and stability through cooperation among all countries, without destructive interference from outside actors. It expresses its readiness to strengthen regional engagement to achieve this goal. Finally, the Iranian Foreign Ministry welcomes the strong condemnation by PGCC countries of the ongoing genocide by the Zionist regime in Gaza and the crimes committed by the regime against the Palestinian people. It emphasizes the need for effective and immediate measures, including cutting off all political and diplomatic relations with the regime, to force it to stop its crimes in the occupied Palestinian territories.
