Iranian FM meets Ugandan President thanks its condemnation of US-Israeli aggression
Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who is in Kampala, Uganda, to participate in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, met on Wednesday afternoon with Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.   During the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister thanked Uganda for its excellent hosting of the NAM meeting and stressed the importance of strengthening solidarity and cooperation among NAM member states to uphold the movement’s fundamental principles, prevent the weakening of the rule of law, and support the right of nations to self-determination.   Araghchi also spoke about the significance Iran places on enhancing relations with Africa and expressed his country’s readiness to expand bilateral ties with Uganda in economic, agricultural, and commercial fields.   He further appreciated Uganda’s principled policy on the military aggression by the Israeli regime against Iran and Kampala's condemnation of the attack.   The Ugandan president for his part said he was pleased with the long-standing Uganda-Iran relations, based on mutual respect and interests. Museveni also reaffirmed his country’s determination to strengthen ties with Iran.   Araghchi and Museveni  agreed on holding a meeting of the Joint Economic Commission between the two countries as soon as possible in order to boost economic and commercial relations.
