The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and his Indian counterpart, Subramaniam Jaishankar, had a phone conversation on Wednesday evening to discuss bilateral ties as well as regional and international developments.
During the phone call, the Iranian foreign minister pointed to the peaceful protests in Iran that turned violent by trained foreign terrorists, but stressed the Iranian nation’s unity and determination to protect and safeguard Iran’s independence and national sovereignty.
The Iranian foreign minister strongly condemned the interventionist and provocative policies of American officials regarding Iran’s internal affairs.
Jaishankar in turn highlighted the expanding ties between the two countries. He stressed that all-out efforts must be made to safeguard stability in the region and expressed his country’s readiness to cooperate and assist in this regard.
