The Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi who has traveled to Tehran to hold talks with senior officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met and talked on Saturday with his Iranian counterpart, Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
During the talks, they discussed Iran-Oman relations and the regional and international developments.
The foreign ministers expressed satisfaction with the friendly ties based on the respect and confidence between the two countries, and stressed that both nations are determined more than ever to expand bilateral ties in areas of interest, including in economic, commercial, investment, energy and tourism fields.
They also exchanged views on regional developments.
The Iranian foreign minister hailed Oman’s role in negotiations regarding the security and stability in the region as outstanding and valuable, and expressed regret over US moves that torpedoed Oman’s initiatives through its military aggression against Iran. He also appreciated Oman for its commitment to diplomatic procedures.
For his part, Albusaidi highlighted the role of continued talks between Iran and Oman and other countries to resolve challenges and issues that put security and stability in the region at risk, and emphasized efforts by all regional nations to cooperate for consolidating peace and security.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed developments related to occupied Palestine and the ongoing genocide by the Zionist regime in Gaza. They called on the international community and regional countries to help stop the crimes against the Palestinian nation. They also exchanged views on the violation of ceasefire in Lebanon by the Zionist regime, as well as the developments in Yemen, Syria, and Somalia.
