Esmail Baqaei, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, posted a message on the X social media regarding the trip of Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, to Muscat:
Dr. Araghchi, the Foreign Minister, has traveled to Muscat at the head of a diplomatic delegation to engage in nuclear negotiations with the U.S. This diplomatic engagement is being conducted with strength and with the goal of reaching a fair, mutually agreeable, and honorable understanding on the nuclear issue.
The bitter experiences of the past, including previous breaches of promises, the military aggression in June, and foreign interventions last December, remain fresh in our minds. We remain committed to demanding the rights of the Iranian people. At the same time, we have a responsibility to ensure that no opportunity is missed to use diplomacy to safeguard the interests of the Iranian people and preserve peace and tranquility in the region.
We express our gratitude to all our friendly neighboring and regional countries that have contributed responsibly and with concern to the shaping of this process. We hope that the American side will also participate in this process with responsibility, realism, and seriousness.
