The Gambia's newly-designated Foreign Minister, Sering Modou Njie, had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
The foreign minister of the Gambia congratulated his counterpart, as well as the government and people of Iran, on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, and emphasized the Gambian government’s determination to expand friendly relations and bilateral cooperation between the two countries in all areas of mutual interest.
The Iranian foreign minister, in turn, extended his congratulations on the blessed month of Ramadan to the foreign minister, government, and people of the Gambia, and expressed Iran’s readiness to develop bilateral relations and to coordinate positions at the level of international organizations.
In addition to reviewing ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation during the phone conversation, the two sides also consulted on regional and international developments.
