Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the martyrdom of Dr. Seyed Kamal Kharazi, head of the Strategic Council
"Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] that they will have Paradise." (Surah At-Tawbah, 9:111)
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs extends its condolences and congratulations to the Supreme Leader, the esteemed family of Martyr Kharazi, and Iran’s diplomatic and academic community on the martyrdom of Dr. Seyed Kamal Kharazi, head of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the strongest possible terms, condemns the heinous assassination of Martyr Kharazi on the April 1, 2026, following the military aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, which resulted in the tragic martyrdom of his devoted wife, the injury, and ultimately the honorable martyrdom of that distinguished figure in the field of science and culture and that seasoned personality in the realm of foreign policy.
The cowardly and criminal assassination of Martyr Kharazi, as a continuation of the terrorist acts and flagrant violations of international law by the Israeli regime, once again demonstrates the criminal nature and fundamental enmity of this warmongering regime toward peace and diplomacy, as well as its fear of the logic of dialogue and constructive engagement in the international arena.
While commemorating the memory of the exalted martyrs Dr. Seyed Kamal Kharazi and Dr. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and all the martyrs on the path of Iran’s dignity and honor, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes its commitment and pledge to continue the proud path of these martyrs in safeguarding Iran’s national security and interests
