"And do not think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision." The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the terrorist act of the brutal Zionist regime in assassinating Ezzeddin Haddad, Commander-in-Chief of the Al-Qassam Brigades, along with his wife and child. It offers congratulations and condolences on the martyrdom of this great fighter, his wife, and his child in the cause of the divine-humanitarian ideal of Palestine to the leadership of the Hamas movement, the steadfast and struggling people of Palestine, and all Muslims and free people of the world. This terrorist act and similar assassinations are part of Israel’s criminal scheme for the colonial erasure of Palestine. The United States, as the largest military, financial, and political supporter of the Zionist apartheid regime, is a complicit partner in every one of these crimes. The cowardly assassination of Palestinian leaders and elites is a clear sign of the desperation and helplessness of a regime that, despite committing the most horrific atrocities and massacring hundreds of thousands of innocent people over the past eight decades, has been unable to extinguish the spirit of resistance against occupation, apartheid, and brutal colonialism in the minds and hearts of the Palestinian people. Indeed, the Palestinians are more determined than ever to fight for the fulfillment of their human rights, particularly the right to self-determination. There is no doubt that the physical elimination of resistance commanders and Palestinian elites will not cause any damage to the school and path of resistance; on the contrary, it will inspire those who follow in the footsteps of the fighters on the road to the dignity and freedom of Palestine.
