The ceremony marking the 40th day of the martyrdom of Seyed Kamal Kharazi and the second anniversary of the martyrdom of Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, former foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was held on Wednesday evening in the presence of Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Qomi, Deputy for International Affairs of the Office of the Supreme Leader; Mohsen Haji-Mirzaei, Head of the President's Office; Ebrahim Azizi, Head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly; Ali-Akbar Salehi, Manouchehr Mottaki, and Mohammad Javad Zarif, former foreign ministers; as well as a number of current and former deputies, directors, and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At this ceremony, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, commemorating the memory of the martyrs of service, described Martyr Seyed Kamal Kharazi as a committed, ethical, and outstanding example of the Islamic Republic of Iran's diplomacy. He said: "Agha Kamal," as his friends and colleagues described him, was a humble, good-natured, diligent individual with a sincere spirit and indifference to worldly appearances. He felt a sense of responsibility toward Iran, the Revolution, and national interests until his final days. Referring to his last conversation with Martyr Kharazi, he noted: Even one day before his martyrdom, his main concern was pursuing the country's issues and providing solutions for engaging with certain countries. This spirit of commitment and responsibility never left him until his final moments. The Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that "Martyr Kharazi had attained the perfection of humanity" and added: Despite holding important positions and responsibilities, he never had an attachment to power or material matters. He always walked the path of serving the country with motivation, seriousness, and a humble spirit. Araghchi also praised the character of Martyr Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, calling him the "paragon of ethics, courtesy, and humility," and stated: Many of today's diplomats at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are students of the school of individuals such as Martyr Kharazi, Martyr Amir-Abdollahian, Ali Akbar Velayati, and other great figures of the Islamic Republic of Iran's foreign policy. Referring to the moral characteristics of Martyr Amir-Abdollahian, he said: From the moment he entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs until he reached his workplace, he would greet all staff, from the guard to the managers, with a cheerful demeanor. This humble and people-oriented spirit made him particularly beloved among his colleagues. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, referring to the status of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the Sacred Defense (Iran-Iraq War) and the years following, stated: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has the highest number of martyred ministers among the country's executive bodies. The ministry's community of veterans, comprising approximately 40% veterans, disabled veterans, and families of martyrs, is one of the most prominent veteran communities in the country's administrative system. Araghchi, referring to the sensitive situation in the region and the developments of recent months, added: The forty-day imposed war was a test for the country's foreign policy apparatus. Ministry of Foreign Affairs colleagues, both at home and abroad, were present in the arena with all their might to convey the voice of the Iranian people's righteousness, oppression, and resistance to the world. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressing gratitude for the efforts of the spokesperson's department, the ministry's spokesperson, and the country's diplomats, added: The interviews, meetings, negotiations, and media activities of Iran's missions abroad played a significant role in clarifying the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran and neutralizing the enemy's psychological warfare.   Araghchi, emphasizing complete coordination between the battlefield, diplomacy, media, and popular presence, stated: In this war, in addition to the three pillars of the battlefield, diplomacy, and media, a fourth pillar emerged—the presence of the people—which consolidated national cohesion and the country's authority. He added: Today, we all stand united in a single trench to defend Iran and the Islamic Republic system; the armed forces in the battlefield of defense, the executive bodies in providing services, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the field of diplomacy and defending national interests. The Minister of Foreign Affairs noted: Wherever necessary, we fight, and wherever necessary, we negotiate. This is the duty assigned to all sectors by the system. The diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran also operates within this framework, in full coordination with the country's grand objectives. The Minister of Foreign Affairs concluded by referring to the continuous coordination between the diplomatic apparatus and the commanders of the armed forces, stating: Throughout this period, numerous meetings and contacts were held to coordinate political, security, and field actions. The diplomatic apparatus has always stood alongside the armed forces and served the national interests of the country. In this ceremony, Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Qomi, Deputy for International Affairs of the Office of the Supreme Leader; Mohsen Haji-Mirzaei, Head of the President's Office; Ebrahim Azizi, Head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly; and former foreign ministers Ali-Akbar Salehi, Manouchehr Mottaki, and Mohammad Javad Zarif also delivered speeches honoring the memory of the martyrs of service, especially Martyr Ayatollah Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, Martyr Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other martyrs of service. While praising the character, struggles, and services of Martyrs Amir-Abdollahian and Kharazi, they expressed appreciation for the efforts and struggles of the foreign policy apparatus of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of diplomacy from the forty-day imposed war up to the present.
