Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi issued a message expressing his gratitude to the people and government of Iraq for their generous hospitality and broad participation in the solemn funeral ceremonies for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei. The message reads:"On behalf of the people and government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, I extend my deepest appreciation, gratitude, and sincere thanks to the noble people of Iraq; the officials and authorities of the Republic of Iraq; the esteemed Maraji' (religious Authorities); distinguished religious scholars; the religious custodians and secretaries-general of the holy shrines of Imam Ali, Imam Hussein, and Al-Abbas; provincial authorities; tribal leaders; the devoted servants of the holy shrines; the respected organizers of the mawakib (pilgrimage service caravans); the military, law enforcement, security forces, and the Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd al-Shaabi); and to all those who, with dignity, sincerity, and exemplary dedication, made possible the magnificent funeral ceremonies for the revered Leader of the Ummah and the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, in the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala. What our dear Iraqi brothers and sisters demonstrated through their warm welcome, generous hospitality, and the magnificent participation of millions in the funeral procession of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution was an unparalleled manifestation of dignity and Islamic brotherhood. This solidarity and compassion reflected the profound religious, historical, and cultural bonds between the two neighboring Muslim nations of Iran and Iraq—ties that have remained steadfast through the love of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and once again embodied before the eyes of the world the enduring truth that 'The love of Hussein unites us.' Without a doubt, what took place in the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala has become another golden chapter in the history of the friendly and fraternal relations between Iran and Iraq—relations rooted in shared faith, loyalty to common Islamic ideals, and the unbreakable bonds between the two nations.Long live the brotherhood between Iran and Iraq."
