Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who is in Kyrgyzstan to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Foreign Ministers' Meeting, met and held talks on Friday afternoon with Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov on the sidelines of the gathering.During the meeting, the two sides discussed the expanding bilateral relations across various fields, including economic and trade cooperation.The foreign ministers of Iran and Uzbekistan also exchanged views on regional and international developments and underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation within the framework of international organizations and multilateral mechanisms, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.During the meeting, Iran's foreign minister outlined the latest developments in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. Recalling Iran's responsible approach throughout the negotiations that led to the Islamabad Understanding, he stated that the United States' breach of its commitments and violation of the provisions of the agreement to end the war were the primary causes of the current dangerous situation. He also reaffirmed Iran's determination to defend its legitimate rights and interests.
