Fuad Hussein, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, held a telephone conversation with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during which they discussed and exchanged views on the latest regional developments and issues of mutual interest. In the conversation, Araghchi, referring to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s principled positions in support of Iraq’s security, stability, and territorial integrity, emphasized the need for vigilance against terrorist acts, including the attack on the office of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and against plots that could harm the friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries. The two sides also stressed the importance of maintaining the security and stability of their shared borders and the necessity of strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two countries to prevent any insecurity or threat to border security.
