In response to the recent hoopla by some US and European officials regarding Iran’s launching of Simorgh satellite booster, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said the Iranian people have an inalienable right to scientific and research advancements, particularly in the field of aerospace, and such meddling statements will not be able to sap their will to progress.
Khatibzadeh added that no UN resolution bans the Islamic Republic of Iran from having a space research program and related tests including in the field of satellite carriers. Therefore, he added, invoking UN Security Council Resolution 2231 is a pointless fallacy and basically false.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman added that just as it was stipulated earlier, the Islamic Republic of Iran is entitled to use peaceful technologies for scientific research purposes in line with international law and, in this way, it will not wait for the opinions of governments which seek to impose their views on others.
Khatibzadeh also said the Iranian people and government appreciate the homegrown scientific innovations and peaceful technologies developed by their scientist and elite children in the field of aerospace under illegal and unfair sanctions.
