Iranian, Swedish FMs hold phone talks on bilateral relations
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian held a phone conversation with his Swedish counterpart, Ann Linde, on Tuesday evening to discuss the expansion of bilateral cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.

The Iranian foreign minister pointed to the long-running relations between the two countries and said the Islamic Republic of Iran values the development of relations with Europe, including with Sweden. Both sides should strive so that the relations of the two countries thrive all the more in commercial and economic areas.
Amirabdollahian stressed that the roadmap of relations between the two sides has been charted, and I agree with you that, in order to implement and operationalize the plan, serious and mutual action is necessary.
The Iranian foreign minister also stressed that both sides have to be mindful to remove the misunderstandings and the issues in the way of developing bilateral ties.
He said the long-running ties between the two countries should not be affected by the propaganda and the unfounded actions of a terrorist outfit, whose crimes against the Iranian nation is vivid to all.
Amirabdollahian demanded the immediate release of Iranian national Hamid Nouri, who has been in detention on trumped-up charges leveled by the Mujahedin-e Khalq terrorist outfit.
The sides discussed that issue at length.
During the phone conversation, the Swedish foreign minister pointed to the historical ties between the two countries and said Sweden attaches much importance to ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and we believe Iran has an important role in peace and stability in the region.
She pointed to attempts by the Mujahedin-e Khalq terrorist outfit to affect the proceedings of Mr. Hamid Nouri’s trial, the Iranian national who has been on trial in Sweden on unfounded charges, and said the government and judicial system of Sweden will not be affected by the propaganda of this outfit.
