Spokesman of Yemen’s Ansarullah meets with FM Amirabdollahian

The spokesman of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement and the head of the negotiating team of the country’s national salvation government, Mohamamd Abdul Salam, on Monday met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian during his visit to Tehran.

In the meeting, Amirabdollahian referred to the deep and historical bond between the Iranian and Yemeni nations, stressing that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always reaffirmed its support for the demand and will of Yemen’s people.

The Iranian foreign minister said the country supports the start and extension of the truce in Yemen and described the ceasefire as a prelude to the establishment of lasting peace in the war-ravaged country.
Amirabdollahian said he is hopeful that a humanitarian breakthrough happens in Yemen with a complete lifting of the siege on the country.

The Yemen salvation government’s top negotiator also appreciated the Islamic republic of Iran’s support for the Yemeni people and briefed Amirabdollahian on the latest developments in Yemen.

He further criticized the incomplete implementation of the truce and also the other side’s failure to make good on its commitments. He said the resolution of humanitarian problems is vital for the promotion of fair peace in Yemen.
