The foreign ministry spokesman expressed hope that, with the necessary measures by the officials in Seoul, the identification of all the victims of the bitter incident will be completed as soon as possible.
Kanaani talked about the follow-up measures by the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Seoul and its contact with Koran officials, adding the results show so far five Iranian nationals have been unfortunately confirmed to have been among the victims of the incident.
The spokesman said the embassy of Iran immediately contacted Koran officials and the foreign ministry in the early hours after the incident and has been following up on the situation of Iranian fellow countrymen and the follow-up measures continue with the aim of getting more complete information on the latest situation of the Iranian compatriots and the possible injured or missing.
Kanaani reiterated that the Iranian embassy considers securing the legal and consular rights of the Iranian victims of the incident a priority.
