Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Monday noon met with Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić as he continued his meetings in the European country.
Amirabdollahian renewed an invitation by the Iranian president to Vučić to visit Iran. The Iranian foreign minister also reaffirmed Iran’s support for the territorial integrity of Serbia.
Amirabdollahian gave a report to the Serbian president about his talks with the prime minister and foreign minister of Serbia, stressing the necessity of boosting cooperation between Tehran and Belgrade in different spheres given the longevity of their relations.
The top Iranian diplomat also stressed the need to use creative mechanisms to enhance economic cooperation and increase the volume of trade between the two nations.
Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić for his part gave his greetings to the Iranian president and said Serbia believes that Iran is an important regional country.
He added, “We think of expansion of ties with Iran as significant and underline the need to strengthen our cooperation in proportion to the possibilities of the two countries.”
