Bagheri in meeting with Oman’s foreign minister: Mutual political trust is key to success of Iran’s policy of neighborliness

In the meeting, the two officials exchanged views about bilateral and regional issues.
The agreement to resume diplomatic relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia and regional talks aimed at strengthening peace and security in the region were among the issues raised in the meeting.
The Omani foreign minister welcomed the normalization deal between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia, saying that the agreement will serve as a basis for strengthening the spirit of cooperation and greater interaction among regional countries. The Iranian deputy foreign minister for political affairs praised Oman’s constructive role in this regard and said the agreement between Riyadh and Tehran to start a new era of ties showed that Iran’s policy of neighborliness is a smart strategy to secure national interests and advance foreign policy goals.
Bagheri added that the key to the success of Iran's policy of neighborliness is mutual political trust and the strategic policy’s aim is to establish stability and peace in the region and boost economic cooperation in order to promote development in all countries and comprehensive prosperity for all regional nations.
It is worthy of note that Bagheri’s trip to Oman is mean to hold the 9th round of political consultations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Sultanate of Oman in Muscat.
