Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, arrived in Tehran this Sunday evening at the head of a diplomatic delegation to meet with Ali Bagheri, Acting Iranian Foreign Minister.
During their meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments in bilateral relations across various fields and regional issues in light of the escalating crimes and aggressions by the Zionist regime.
Bagheri emphasized the Islamic Republic of Iran’s principled approach to developing relations with neighboring and Muslim countries, underscoring the Supreme Leader’s clear directive to continue this policy in Iran's foreign affairs.
He highlighted the efforts by enemies of the Islamic world to turn differences into disputes and disputes into conflicts within the region, and Iran's efforts to counter this through a serious neighborhood policy.
Bagheri stated, "The assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, a religious thinker, Quran memorizer, prominent Arab politician, significant Palestinian figure, and great Islamic resistance fighter, is an action against all international, legal and customary standards, violating regional and international security and stability, as well as the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of the Islamic Republic. This crime necessitates a firm response more than ever."
He strongly criticized the supportive stance of Western countries, particularly the United States and some European governments, for backing the Zionist regime’s crimes and preventing even a single condemnation statement from being issued by the UN Security Council regarding the recent terrorist crime. He added, "The main cause of the continuation and escalation of the criminal gang's aggression in Tel Aviv is the support of the United States and some European governments for this malevolent entity in the region."
Bagheri, referring to the long history of the Zionist regime’s resort to aggression and assassination against Palestinian resistance leaders in other countries, stressed, "Israel must receive a decisive and harsh response to understand that security barbarism carries heavy costs."
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi expressed his pleasure at visiting Tehran and thanked the Acting Foreign Minister of Iran for the warm reception. He emphasized the special interest of the King of Jordan in developing relations with Iran, stating, "The relations between Jordan and Iran are longstanding and brotherly. We seek to deepen our good and brotherly relations with Iran and have a serious resolve for frank and transparent dialogue to remove obstacles and enhance relations."
Safadi reiterated Jordan’s principled position in condemning the Zionist regime's aggressions, including the illegal targeting of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Hamas political bureau, in Tehran.
He stated, "Jordan was the first country to condemn this Israeli action, which violates Iran's national sovereignty and international laws, and our clear message is the necessity of stopping Israel's war crimes and aggressions in Gaza and the region."
