Iran , Qatar FMs meet in Tehran, discuss ties, Palestine

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar who is leading a diplomatic delegation to Tehran met with Seyed Abbas Araghchi the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, who is leading a diplomatic delegation to Tehran, met with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, the two foreign ministers discussed the development and expansion of relations between Tehran and Doha in various fields. They also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest in regional and international arenas, particularly the developments in Palestine and the ongoing crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza.

The two sides paid tribute to the martyred Iranian President Raisi and Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian and reviewed the efforts made to develop relations. They also emphasized their special commitment to pursuing and implementing the agreements reached between the two countries.

Pointing to the good opportunities and capacities of the two countries in commercial and economic fields, Araghchi stated: "We wish to see a new leap and movement in bilateral relations, especially in economic and trade areas, through increased efforts and coordination between the relevant sectors of the two countries within the framework of the Joint Economic Commission."

The Iranian diplomacy chief also appreciated Qatar's good efforts and initiatives in tackling important regional issues, particularly those aimed at halting the war and establishing a ceasefire in Gaza.
Referring to the Zionists' approach of escalating tensions and expanding the scope of war and conflict in the region, he emphasized: "The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes Qatar's efforts to immediately stop the war and the Zionists' crimes against the oppressed people of Palestine and to establish a ceasefire in Gaza. We will support any agreement accepted by our friends in the Palestinian resistance and Hamas."

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, also expressed pleasure with his official visit to Tehran.
He congratulated Araghchi on his appointment as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, wishing him success.

He added, "We will do our best to continue the interaction and cooperation between us based on the determination and will of the two countries' leaders and in line with achieving our common goals, so that there would be a better future ahead of the relations between the two countries, especially in the area of economic cooperation."

In this meeting, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister also provided a report on his country's diplomatic efforts and initiatives aimed at stopping the war and establishing a ceasefire in Gaza.
He also referred to the consultations between the two countries and called for the continuation of these discussions to help ensure stability and security in the region and to assist the Palestinian people.
