New Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman appointed

Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi has issued a decree appointing Esmaeil Baghaei as the new Foreign Ministrys spokesman and the new head of the Public Diplomacy Center at the ministry.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has issued a decree, appointing Esmaeil Baghaei as the new Foreign Ministry's spokesman and the new head of the Public Diplomacy Center at the ministry.

Baghaei was previously an aide to Iran's foreign minister.

His other previous posts during his 20-year career at the Foreign Ministry are as follows:
• Ambassador and permanent representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Office in Geneva from 2018 to 2022
• Head of the Legal Department of the Foreign Ministry from 2011 to 2015
• Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Legal Committee in New York from 2010 to 2006.
