During his visit to Doha, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, continued his consultations in Qatar by meeting on Thursday afternoon with senior officials of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement—Hamas, including Mohammad Ismail Darwish, Chairman of the Leadership Council, along with several other members of the council and the political bureau.

The discussions centered on the latest field and political developments in Palestine, particularly the situation following the ceasefire agreement and the exchange of prisoners in Gaza.

Conveying the warm greetings of the Supreme Leader, the President, and the government and people of Iran to the leaders of the resistance and the heroic Palestinian nation, Araghchi congratulated the Palestinian people—especially the steadfast residents of Gaza and the resistance factions—on their historic victory. He hailed their legendary resilience against the Zionist regime’s 16-month-long aggression and genocide, which ultimately forced the occupying regime to accept the resistance’s conditions in the ceasefire agreement.

Araghchi reaffirmed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s unwavering and principled policy of supporting the Palestinian resistance until the full realization of Palestinian rights, including their right to self-determination and the complete liberation of Palestine from occupation.

The Hamas leaders, in turn, conveyed the warm greetings of the resistance fighters and the great Palestinian nation to the Supreme Leader, government, and people of Iran. They expressed their deep gratitude for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s steadfast support of the Palestinian cause and provided an update on the political and on-the-ground situation in Gaza and the West Bank following the ceasefire agreement.

Hamas officials described the historic victory of the resistance in Gaza as the direct result of the Palestinian people’s steadfastness despite mass killings and widespread destruction, as well as the support of the Resistance Axis, with the Islamic Republic of Iran playing a central role. They described the current state of the Palestinian resistance and the broader regional resistance movements in the aftermath of these recent victories as highly favorable.

A key focus of the meeting was the urgent need for the international community and Islamic nations to provide serious assistance to the people of Gaza to help them navigate the dire humanitarian crisis and to support reconstruction efforts in the aftermath of the war.
