Telephone conversation held between foreign ministers of Iran  caretaker govt. of Afghanistan

Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Caretaker Government of Afghanistan held a telephone conversation regarding the urgent need for Islamic countries to take immediate action to stop the Zionist regime’s crimes in Gaza. They discussed other important bilateral issues.

  

Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Caretaker Government of Afghanistan, held a telephone conversation regarding the urgent need for Islamic countries to take immediate action to stop the Zionist regime’s crimes in Gaza. They discussed other important bilateral issues.

During the call, the Iranian Foreign Minister and his Afghan counterpart strongly condemned the war crimes and genocide committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza, including the blockade of food supplies to the defenseless Palestinian population in the Strip. Both sides emphasized the urgent and coordinated action of Islamic countries to deliver humanitarian aid to the people and halt the ongoing genocide.

In this context, they underlined the necessity of convening an emergency session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to adopt practical and effective measures aimed at ending the Zionist regime’s aggression and supporting the oppressed Palestinian nation.

The conversation also addressed other important topics, including Iran’s rightful share of water, border cooperation, enhancement of consular interactions, and the dignified and gradual return of Afghan nationals to their homeland.

Moreover, considering the historical, religious, and cultural commonalities between the two neighboring Muslim nations of Iran and Afghanistan, the importance of continued dialogue, constructive engagement, and strengthening regional cooperation based on mutual interests was highlighted.
