FM Araghchi meets with New Consul General to Jalalabad

Majid Rezapanah, the newly appointed Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, met with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, prior to departing for his post.

During the meeting, Rezapanah presented a report on the consular jurisdiction, its existing capacities, and his proposed plans for advancing the responsibilities of his new assignment.

The Foreign Minister, while highlighting the importance of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s relations with Afghanistan, emphasized the necessity of strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic and consular domains.

Prior to this appointment, Rezapanah served as Head of the Office for Consular and Judicial Assistance at the Directorate-General for Consular Affairs, under the Consular, Parliamentary, and Iranian Expatriates’ Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
