Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baqaei has expressed regret over the United Arab Emirates’ insistence on misusing the presence of any diplomatic delegation in the country to raise territorial claims against Iran.
Baqaei condemned the repetition of the unfounded and wrong claim regarding the Iranian islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb in the final statement of the Chinese foreign minister’s visit to the UAE.
He underlined that the Iranian islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb are inseparable parts of the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and that any territorial claim over them is clearly contrary to the principle of respect for the territorial integrity of countries and the principle of good neighborliness.
