Iranian foreign minister meets Lebanese prime minister

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who has traveled to the Lebanese capital, Beirut, to hold talks with senior figures of Lebanon met with Prime Minister Salam Nawaf on Friday evening and discussed bilateral ties as well as regional and international developments.
During the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister highlighted his meetings and talks with top Lebanese officials during the past 16 months, asserting that the main objective of the trip was to focus on economic-commercial fields. He noted that holding a joint economic commission between the two countries in this regard is crucial.
Araghchi stressed Iran’s principled and constant support for Lebanon’s unity, national sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasizing the importance of putting an end to the Zionist regime’s occupation and its aggression and crimes against Lebanon.
He noted Iran’s support for any national consensus within Lebanon, reminding the guarantors of the ceasefire and the international community of their responsibility to stop the violation of the November 2025 ceasefire and aggression against Lebanon’s national sovereignty.
The Lebanese prime minister stressed that ties between Iran and Lebanon should be bolstered and continue in all areas of concern by all sides.
Citing the continued breach of the ceasefire by the Zionist regime, Nawaf underlined the international community’s responsibility to halt the violation of the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and aggression against Lebanon’s sovereignty.
