Iran Foreign Minister Holds Phone Calls with Regional Counterparts

Following the military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, held telephone conversations with his counterparts from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Iraq.

During these calls, while briefing them on the latest developments, he described the military aggression as a flagrant violation of the fundamental principles of the Charter of the United Nations and a clear crime against international peace and security.

He stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on its inherent right of self-defense, will utilize all its defensive and military capabilities to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran.

 

Referring to Iran’s firm determination to continue its policy of good neighborliness and friendship with all countries in the region, the Foreign Minister underscored the fundamental principle of international law prohibiting any participation in an act of aggression against another state. He reminded all regional countries of their responsibility to prevent the United States and the Zionist regime from exploiting their facilities or territories to carry out aggressive operations against Iran. He further emphasized that, in exercising its inherent right of self-defense in accordance with international law, Iran’s Armed Forces will regard the origin and sources of the United States’ and the Zionist regime’s aggressive operations—along with any actions aimed at countering Iran’s defensive measures—as legitimate targets.

 

Araghchi stated that the war imposed by the United States and the Zionist regime is not only directed against the Iranian nation but against all countries of the region. Therefore, he noted, it is incumbent upon all Muslim nations and regional governments to fulfill their historic responsibility in confronting the malicious designs of the Zionist regime.
