Iran strongly condemns ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon
Esmail Baghaei, the Spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has strongly condemned the aggressive actions of the Israeli regime in Lebanon. He specifically denounced the regime's brutal attacks on residential and civilian areas across Lebanon, particularly in the south, the Bekaa Valley, and the Dahieh suburb of Beirut. These assaults have resulted in the martyrdom of over 800 people, the injury of thousands, and the displacement of several hundred thousand civilians.
Baghaei emphasized that the bombing of residential neighborhoods, the killing of civilians, medical personnel, and first responders, along with the destruction of Lebanon's vital infrastructure, constitute a grave violation of the principles of international law and international humanitarian law. He described these acts as a clear example of war crimes and crimes against humanity, stating that the international community cannot remain indifferent to them.
The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson noted that the continued inaction of responsible international bodies regarding the persistent breaches of ceasefire and the crimes committed by the Israeli regime—especially in light of American support and complicity—has only encouraged the occupying regime to intensify its aggressions and atrocities.
Extending his condolences to the families of the martyrs and wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran reaffirmed Iran's support for Lebanon in its struggle against the occupation and aggression of the Israeli regime. He also reminded the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, of its responsibility to fulfill its duties to prevent the Israeli regime's violation of peace and to prosecute and punish the perpetrators of crimes committed against the people of Lebanon.
