Telephone Conversation held between Foreign Ministers of Iran Armenia

Ararat Mirzoyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, held a telephone conversation with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran. During the call, the two sides discussed regional developments and the consequences of the continued US and

military aggression against Iran.

 The Armenian Foreign Minister extended congratulations on Nowruz and wished peace and tranquility for the Iranian nation. He also expressed condolences and sympathy on behalf of the Armenian government and people regarding the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and a number of senior Iranian officials and citizens.

 Furthermore, the Armenian Foreign Minister expressed deep regret over the attacks on civilians, particularly the students of the Shajareh Tayyibah School in Minab, and conveyed sympathy and solidarity with the families of the martyrs, as well as the government and people of Iran.

 Iran’s Foreign Minister, while appreciating the positions and messages of sympathy from the Armenian government and people, informed his Armenian counterpart about the war crimes committed by the aggressors and the egregious violations of human rights and international humanitarian law, especially the attacks on schools, educational and research centers, historical and cultural sites, hospitals, vital and productive infrastructure, as well as residential areas.

 Araghchi, emphasizing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s resolve to powerfully defend its territorial integrity, sovereignty, and national security against the US military aggression and the Israeli regime, reminded that all governments bear the responsibility to condemn the lawlessness and heinous crimes committed by the US-Israeli aggressors. He stated: "The United States is the primary cause of the insecurity and crisis in the West Asia region and the Strait of Hormuz. The world must hold the US administration and the racist, genocidal Israeli regime accountable and punish them for imposing an illegal war on Iran and the region."
